Report: Jets Coach Rex Ryan Doesn’t Want To Do ‘Hard Knocks’ Again In 2012
HBO would like once again to feature the New York Jets on its reality series “Hard Knocks” this preseason, but head coach Rex Ryan is surprisingly against it, according to Adam Schein of FOX Sports.
Jets owner Woody Johnson reportedly wants his team back on the hit show, but Ryan disagrees, saying he doesn’t want “any more of a circus-type atmosphere” after the team’s disappointing 2011 season.
The Jets were must-watch television on “Hard Knocks” in 2010 thanks to Ryan’s foul mouth, Antonio Cromartie’s struggle to name all nine of his children, and the contract holdout of Darrelle Revis. But if the Jets opt out this time, HBO will need to find a backup plan.
Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos have already said no; the network is reportedly considering a show focused on the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens, coached by Jim and John Harbaugh.
