Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Derek Fisher is said to be in “advanced negotiations” with the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to ESPN.com. If Fisher clears waivers, he will become a free agent Wednesday evening.
The report states that Fisher is “very close” to signing with the Thunder.
Thunder superstar Kevin Durant endorsed the move Tuesday morning.
“Derek is a consummate professional … an unbelievable leader,” Durant said, according to ESPN. “And he played with arguably one of the greatest players to ever play in Kobe (Bryant), and Kobe really respected him as a player and wanted him on his team, so that speaks volumes.”
