Report: Peyton Manning To Sign With Denver Broncos

NFL

Peyton Manning will reportedly sign with the Denver Broncos, according to a tweet from ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.

Manning had reportedly been deciding between the Tennessee Titans and the Broncos. He was released earlier this month by the Indianapolis Colts after missing the entirety of 2011.

Last season the Broncos finished with an 8-8 record with upstart quarterback Tim Tebow under center. The second-year star helped lead the  Broncos to a 7-4 record after taking over the starting position midway through the season. He also helped Denver upset the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the AFC Playoffs. Despite his initial success in the win column, however, some have questioned Tebow’s ability to be a championship caliber NFL quarterback.

Over the course of his career, Manning has compiled 54,828 passing yards and 399 touchdowns. He was the number one overall pick by the Colts in 1998, and has been a four-time NFL MVP. In 2006, he led the Colts to a Super Bowl Championship, where he was named Most Valuable Player.
