Report: Tennessee Titans Offer Peyton Manning Contract “For Life”
Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams told KHOU 11 Sports that the Titans have offered free-agent quarterback Peyton Manning an offer “for life.”
Adams reportedly believes that Tennessee would be the perfect landing place for Manning, who was recently cut by the Indianapolis Colts after 14 seasons. The 35-year-old was a star at the University of Tennessee during his college days.
Manning visited with the Titans yesterday in Nashville. While the franchise drafted a quarterback of the future last season in Jake Locker, Adams told KHOU 11 that when someone of Manning’s caliber you just have to “go for it.”
The Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals are also interested in Manning.
Over the course of his career, Manning has compiled 54,828 passing yards and 399 touchdowns. He was the number one overall pick by the Colts in 1998, and has been a four-time NFL MVP. In 2006, he led the Colts to a Super Bowl Championship, where he was named Most Valuable Player.
