Report: Magic In Talks To Acquire Warriors’ Monta Ellis
A late-breaking rumor has the Orlando Magic and Golden State Warriors working on a major trade — but no, not that major. The centerpiece of this deal would be not Dwight Howard, but rather Warriors high-scoring guard Monta Ellis.
According to Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld, the deal being discussed is a three-teamer, including the New Orleans Hornets as well, that would send Ellis to Orlando:
Source confirms that the Magic, Warriors and Hornets are discussing three-team deal that sends Monta Ellis to Orlando. Talks are heating up.

Ellis is one of the players on Howard’s wish list, meaning GM Otis Smith and the Magic are making a concerted effort to bring more talent to Orlando and convince Howard to stay.
Ellis leads the Warriors this season in points per game (21.9), assists per game (6.0) and steals per game (1.5). He was just named the Western Conference Player of the Week today, after leading Golden State to a 3-1 record last week.
