Ozzie Guillen Receives First Ejection As Miami Marlins’ Manager

MLB

Today brought a very important “first” in the history of baseball — the first ejection for Ozzie Guillen as the manager of the Miami Marlins. (There are many more to come, no doubt.)

Guillen was ejected in the sixth inning of the Marlins’ spring training loss to the Boston Red Sox today — after a grounder hit down the first-base line by Miami’s Terry Tiffee was ruled foul, Guillen argued to first-base umpire Tim Timmons that it wasn’t his call to make.

Guillen emerged from the dugout, shouted and banged his hands together a few times, according to the Associated Press. He was ejected after about 20 seconds and exited across the diamond.

Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine waved goodbye to Guillen a couple of times, reports the AP.
