Report: Titans Owner Bud Adams Wants Peyton Manning Back In Tennessee

NFL

Time to add another entry to the long list of teams lusting after Peyton Manning — the Tennessee Titans. Owner Bud Adams wants the four-time MVP badly and is willing to do whatever it takes, according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.

“He is the man I want. Period,” Adams said. “And the people that work for me understand that. They know who I want. I want Mr. Manning with the Titans, and I will be disappointed if it doesn’t happen.”

The Titans went 9-7 last season with Matt Hasselbeck under center and rookie Jake Locker playing a few snaps backing up the veteran QB. Hasselbeck had a productive season, throwing for 3,571 yards and 18 touchdowns, but the Titans are still looking to make a change.

So far, there’s no indication the interest is mutual — Manning has met with the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals, and rumor has it the Miami Dolphins are next. But Adams is holding out hope.

“I hope to be one of the teams he looks at,” the owner said. ”Since he went to school in Tennessee, I think Tennessee is where he should be. I think he could play for two or three years. I think he’s the guy that could come in and turn this around for us.”
