The New York Jets are out of the running to sign free-agent quarterback Peyton Manning, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York.
From all indications, #Jets are out of the Manning sweepstakes. Looks like Mia, Den and Ariz.

The Jets already have quarterback Mark Sanchez on the roster, but the team has been rumored to be interested in Manning. This week, LaDainian Tomlinson said Sanchez would ask for his release if the team signed Manning and former Jets quarterback Joe Namath backed Sanchez, saying the team should stick with the young quarterback.
“Mark’s going to be around a while,” Namath said. “His demeanor was angry last year with all the things going on behind the scenes. His feelings were clearly hurt. I hope they work through all that because I’m rooting for him. I don’t see Peyton coming to the Jets.”
