Crosby has been participating in the non-contact portion of the Penguins practice for the past several weeks in an attempt to comeback from a concussion that has threatened his career.
The 24-year-old, made a brief comeback in late November from the concussion that forced him to miss 68 consecutive games from 2010-11. The star center was originally cleared for contact Oct. 13 and in his first game back against the New York Islanders, the 24-year-old tallied two goals and two assists. After just eight games, however, Crosby was put back on the injured reserve with concussion-like symptoms.
Crosby originally suffered during the Winter Classic when the Penguins matched up against the Washington Capitals on New Year’s Day 2011.
