Bengals WR Jerome Simpson Pleads Guilty To Drug Charges

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jerome Simpson could serve jail time despite pleading guilty Thursday to a drug charge as part of an agreement with prosecutors, according to ESPN.
Simpson was indicted with the felony charge after a shipment of marijuana was tracked from California to his home in northern Kentucky. By pleading guilty, Simpson’s agreement with prosecutors includes a 60-day jail sentence with a work-release provision. Judge Gregory Bartlett will make a decision April 5.
Last season, Simpson had 50 receptions for 725 yards and four touchdowns. With the receiver’s four-year contract expired, Simpson will become a free agent on March 13.
