The Mountaineers will begin competing in the Big 12 in the 2012-13 season. It was reported earlier this week that the Big East and West Virginia had reached a settlement worth an estimated $20 million to allow the school to leave the conference on short notice.
The Big East has seen a major reshuffling in the past several months. After losing West Virginia, Pittsburgh, TCU, and Syracuse, they have added Memphis, Boise State, San Diego State, Houston, and UCF.
