This isn’t the first time a Manning-related rumor has swirled around the Cardinals — star Cards receiver Larry Fitzgerald made headlines last week by having dinner with the quarterback, which many took as a sign that Fitzgerald was recruiting the Colts’ legend.
The Cardinals lost six straight games early in the 2011 season, and quarterback Kevin Kolb was shut down for the season shortly thereafter with concussion-like symptoms. John Skelton took over under center, leading the Cardinals back to mediocrity at 8-8. The team is still looking for a long-term solution at QB.
Reich is a former NFL quarterback himself, perhaps best known as the longtime backup to Jim Kelly in Buffalo. He retired in 1998 and has worked as an assistant coach since 2008.
