Carmelo Anthony Out 1-2 Weeks With Strained Groin

NBA

The New York Knicks will be without star forward Carmelo Anthony for 1-2 weeks, according to ESPN.com.

Anthony suffered a strained right groin in the first quarter of yesterday’s 99-88 victory over the Utah Jazz. The All-Star was forced to leave the game immediately and was unable to return to the court. Anthony had just two points in six minutes.

The 27-year-old, who has been battling small injuries all season, is averaging 22.3 points, 4.2 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game for the Knicks. He had previously missed two games last week due to a series of injuries, and sat out a contest Jan. 14 against the Oklahoma City Thunder as well.

Through 25 games this season, the Knicks are 10-15.
