Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant Headline Starters For Feb. 26 NBA All-Star Game
The NBA’s All-Star starters were announced tonight, and there are no surprises here — 10 of the league’s biggest stars have earned the right to tip things off in Orlando later this month.
Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic was the league’s leading vote-getter, accompanied by fellow East starters LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose and Carmelo Anthony. The L.A. Lakers’ Kobe Bryant led the way out West, and he’ll be joined by Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul and Andrew Bynum.
Bryant was named an All-Star for the 14th time in his career, tying Kevin Garnett for the most selections among active players; Bynum, Bryant’s Laker teammate, is the only first-time All-Star of the 10.
The All-Star game tips off at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Amway Center.
