Sidney Crosby has been missing in action for the Pittsburgh Penguins since Dec. 5, but there’s encouraging news out of his camp tonight: Crosby is back to skating on his own, indicating a likely return in the near future.
“He has been skating pretty much all week,” agent Pat Brisson told ESPN the Magazine.
Crosby has played in eight games for the Penguins this season; he has two goals and 10 assists. At the moment, there is still no timetable for his return.
Despite the captain’s absence, the Pens have won seven consecutive games and sit tied for fifth in the Eastern Conference with 60 points. They resume their season after the All-Star break against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night.
