Anthony has struggled over the past week for the Knicks. On Tuesday against the Charlotte Bobcats he posted a career low in scoring with just one point. The following evening against the Cleveland Cavaliers, he scored fifteen points on just 5/14 shooting. As a result, Knicks head coach Mike D’Antoni has given him the next several games off to rest various injuries.
In 17 games this season Anthony is averaging 23.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 4.3 assists a game for the Knicks, who have stumbled early to a 7-11 record. Over the course of his career he has averaged 24.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists.
New York will play the Heat tonight and the Houston Rockets tomorrow. It is believed Anthony will return when the Knicks play the Pistons at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.
