Report: Blue Jays Sign Omar Vizquel
Shortstop Omar Vizquel will sign with the Toronto Blue Jays, his agent told ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick. FOX’s Ken Rosenthal confirmed the agreement, reporting it was a one-year contract.

Vizquel, 44, has spent the last two seasons with the Chicago White Sox. In 2011, Vizquel appeared in 58 games, hitting .251 with no home runs and eight RBIs.
Vizquel currently stands at 2,841 hits in his career (.272 career average) and has won 11 Gold Glove awards.
Update (8:09 p.m.) – Vizquel confirmed the deal via his Twitter account, adding that he will be competing for a roster spot.
