Indianapolis Colts Fire Jim Caldwell After 2-14 Season

NFL

The Indianapolis Colts have relieved head coach Jim Caldwell of his duties, according to a tweet from the team’s official account.

The Colts finished the season with a 2-14 record, which was tied with the St. Louis Rams for the worst mark in the NFL. In his two previous seasons as the head coach of the Colts, Caldwell led the team to a 10-6 record in 2010 and a 14-2 record in 2009.

The Colts were without the services of Peyton Manning for the entire season, which marked the first time since 1998 that Manning failed to start each and every game for Indianapolis. It is unknown whether Manning, who has been recovering from neck surgery, will be back with the Colts next season.

Indianapolis also fired longtime front office leaders Chris and Bill Polian shortly following the season.
