Report: Yankees Considering Free Agent Carlos Pena
Carlos Pena remains on the open market deep into the offseason, but there’s at least one high-profile suitor still considering a flyer on the 33-year-old slugger: the New York Yankees.

Pena signed a one-year deal with the Cubs last winter after four productive seasons in Tampa Bay. He was a solid offensive first baseman for the North Siders, slugging 28 home runs and driving in 80 runs. He may transition into a DH role if he finds his way to the Bronx.
While Pena is one possibility, the Bronx Bombers are still keeping their options open at the moment. They’re far from a done deal with Pena, and Johnny Damon is another name that’s been linked to the Yanks in recent rumors.
