Three weeks ago, after the New England Patriots toppled the Denver Broncos in Week 15 with an emphatic second-half comeback, Tom Brady met Tim Tebow at the 50-yard line, exchanged pleasantries with the opposing quarterback and told him, “We’ll see you again.”
Reminded of these words tonight by the Boston Herald’s Ian Rapoport, Tebow had an interesting little quip regarding New England’s reigning MVP.
“He might’ve said something like that,” Tebow said. “So I guess he’s a prophet, I don’t know.”
Tebow and Brady will indeed see each other again, squaring off at 8 p.m. Saturday at Gillette Stadium. After the Broncos’ 29-23 overtime win over the Steelers today, Tebow’s crew is set for a divisional-round meeting with the top-seeded Patriots.
Brady convincingly outplayed Tebow in the quarterbacks’ first meeting, finishing 23-of-34 for 320 yards and three touchdowns, two passing and one rushing. Tebow was 11-for-22 for 194 yards and had two rushing TDs. The Patriots stormed back from a 16-7 deficit to win 41-23.
