Report: Los Angeles Rumors Present ‘Possible Hangup’ For Jeff Fisher Becoming Rams’ Next Coach

NFL

For the last few days, word on the street has been that former Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher is a virtual lock to get back in the game as the next coach of the St. Louis Rams. But according to Jim Thomas, Rams beat writer for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, there is one catch:

The Rams moved from Los Angeles to St. Louis in 1995, but rumors have been swirling about a possible return down the road. The Los Angeles City Council passed a memorandum back in August that may lead to the construction of a $1.2 billion football stadium slated to open in 2016.

Fisher, who coached the Houston Oilers and Titans between 1994 and 2010, actually has strong Southern California roots. He was born in Culver City and was a star wide receiver for William Howard Taft High School in Woodland Hills before also excelling at USC.

The 53-year-old head coach is expected to decide soon between the Rams and the Miami Dolphins.
