Bulls Guard C.J. Watson Has Dislocated Elbow

Bulls guard C.J. Watson said prior to tonight’s game that he dislocated his left elbow in Sunday’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

“It dislocated when I tried to plant,” Watson told K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. “I just felt it pop out of place and suffered a lot of pain. I was hoping it wouldn’t be anything really, really bad, but I knew I’d be out for a bit.”

The backup point guard behind Derrick Rose was missing in action Tuesday night when the Bulls beat the Hawks, and he’ll be out again tonight in Detroit. He says he plans to wear a sling for a week.

“They’re saying a week or so, or day-to-day, depending on how much pain I can handle,” Watson said. “You never know, I might be able to play. It’s feeling better, and I could probably play, but I wouldn’t be able to help a lot. I’ll be back as fast as I can.”

Watson is averaging 6.2 points and 3.4 assists per game off the bench this season. The Bulls are 5-1, equaling the Heat for the NBA’s best record.
