The Jets lost their final three games of the season to finish outside of the playoffs for the first time since the 2008-09 season. With Ryan as the team’s head coach, the club had reached two consecutive AFC Championship Games before finishing 8-8 this year.
New York entered the final week of the season with a chance to earn the final AFC wild card spot, however their loss this Sunday to the Miami Dolphins eliminated them from contention.
