Bills Fire D Coordinator George Edwards, Promote Dave Wannstedt

The Buffalo Bills have fired defensive coordinator George Edwards, according to ESPN.com. The club has promoted Dave Wannstedt to the position.

Wannstedt  joined Buffalo as a defensive assistant head coach last January. The former Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bills head coach  worked primarily with the team’s linebackers in 2011.

Edwards was in just his second year as the defensive coordinator with the Bills. Buffalo gave up the most points out of any team in the AFC this season.
