Michael Redd Expected To Sign With Phoenix Suns Today
Former Milwaukee Bucks All-Star Michael Redd is expected to sign with the veteran laden Phoenix Suns, according to The Arizona Republic.
Redd, 32, worked out for the Suns earlier this week at the U.S. Airways Center, according to The Arizona Republic, and is expected to sign with the team today. Redd, however, would not likely play until he returns to playing shape and gets more acclimated with the Suns’ offensive system.
The 11-year-veteran has only played in 44 games over the past three seasons as a result of debilitating knee injuries. When healthy, however, Redd was one of the better outside scorers of the previous decade. In 578 NBA games he has averaged 20 points per game, and shot 38 percent from behind the three-point line.
The Suns, who have begun the season 0-2, are in need of an outside shooting presence. Jason Richardson, Vince Carter, and Hedo Turkoglu, who represented three of the team’s top four three-point shooters last year, are no longer with the club.
