Braylon Edwards Announces His Own Release On Twitter

He also released a longer statement on his official website:
“I wish the 49ers organization the best of luck during the Playoffs. I will be working hard this off season to strengthen my knee and prepare for the 2012 season. Thanks for your continued support and for being such loyal fans.”
Edwards had managed to record just 15 receptions in nine games with the 49ers this year. Last season he tallied 53 receptions and seven touchdowns for the New York Jets.
Earlier this winter, Edwards made headlines when he gave out 79 $10,000 college scholarships to Cleveland area students who fulfilled a promise to graduate high school. Edwards had made the pledge to students that he would help pay for their education when he was a rookie with the Cleveland Browns.
