Colt McCoy Sent Home Before Practice

NFL

The Cleveland Browns sent quarterback Colt McCoy home before practice for the fourth time this week, according to ESPN.

McCoy sustained the concussion from a helmet-to-helmet with Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison in last Thursday’s game.  It was reported yesterday that the former University of Texas star was not checked by team trainers for concussion symptoms prior to re-entering the game.  The NFL Players Association has launched an investigation into the matter.

Browns backup Seneca Wallace will likely replace McCoy for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals in his first start of the season.  Wallace was 1-3 in four starts last season.

The Browns are fourth in the AFC North standings going 4-9 for the season.
