Report: Todd Graham Will Leave Pittsburgh To Become ASU Head Coach

Uncategorized

Pittsburgh head football coach Todd Graham will leave his post with the Panthers to become the head coach of Arizona State, Pat Forde of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Graham is in just his first year as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Panthers. The 47-year-old left a short but successful stint as the head coach of Tulsa following the 2010 season to take over for Pittsburgh’s Dave Wannstedt, who had resigned. Graham was the Panthers’ second choice to take over as head coach. The school had hired former Miami of Ohio head coach Michael Haywood in December of 2010, but fired him just 16 days later after Haywood was charged with felony domestic violence.

Graham led Pittsburgh to a 4-3 record in the Big East, and a 6-6 record overall in his first year as coach. In his previous four years with Tulsa, he had led the Golden Hurricanes to a 35-17 record, including three victories in bowl games.

This marks the second time which Graham has left a school after coaching just one season. In 2006 Graham left Rice to become the head coach at Tulsa following his first year with the team.
