Report: LSU To Face Alabama In BCS Title Game, Among Other Bowl Pairings

Top-ranked LSU will rematch against Alabama in the BCS Title Game, according to a tweet from J.P. Palm of CBSSports.com.  The first matchup between the teams was a defensive struggle in early November, which LSU won by a score of 9-6.

Reports are emerging of other Bowl game matchups:

  • ESPN reports that Texas A&M will be playing Northwestern in the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Houston.
  • Chip Brown of Orangebloods.com reports that Texas’s D.J. Moore confirmed via his protected Twitter feed that Texas is going to the Bridgepoint Holiday Bowl.
  • Ben Jones of StateCollege.com reports that Penn State is heading to the Ticket City Bowl in Dallas.
  • Brett McMurphy of CBSSports.com is reporting that Rutgers and Iowa State will face off in the Pinstripe Bowl.
  • McMurphy also cites a source claiming that Marshall will be playing Florida International in the Beef ‘O’Brady’s Bowl in St. Petersburg.
  • SBNation Detroit says that Purdue and Western Michigan will be square off in the Little Caesar’s Pizza Bowl in Detroit.
  • The official University of Florida Twitter account confirms that the Gators will take on Ohio State in the Gator Bowl, matching up head coach Urban Meyer’s last team with his next team.
  • MySanAntonio.com is citing a source familiar with negotiations who claims that the Valero Alamor Bowl will feature Baylor and Washington.
