Braves’ Tim Hudson Has Back Surgery

MLB

Atlanta Braves starter Tim Hudson had back surgery Monday to repair a herniated disk, according to Craig Calcaterra of NBC Sports.  Hudson is expected to be ready for spring training.

“Based on today’s procedure, we are happy that this will help alleviate some of the discomfort that Tim felt,” said Braves general manager Frank Wren. “The prognosis is positive for him to be ready for Spring Training and to be able to pitch during the Spring Training schedule.”

Hudson, 36, was 16-10 with a 3.22 ERA in 215 innings last season for Atlanta.
