Ravens Expect Ray Lewis To Play Again This Season
The Baltimore Ravens expect linebacker Ray Lewis to play again this season despite his toe injury, according to Jason La Canfora of NFL.com. La Canfora reports that if Lewis sits out this week, it will be his decision.
According to La Canfora, Lewis has told some in the organization that he expects to play this Thursday, though he is not expected to practice at all leading up to the Thanksgiving day game.
Some have recommended that Lewis sits out against the 49ers on Thursday and the next two games against the Cleveland Browns and the Indianapolis Colts, meaning his return would not come until the Dec. 18 game at San Diego, according to La Canfora.
Lewis, 36, has 68 total tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception this year. He sat out this past Sunday with his toe injury, his first missed start since the 2007 season. The 12-time Pro Bowler has played in 14 or more games for five consecutive seasons.
