DeSean Jackson Suffered Bruised Foot In Victory Over Giants

NFL

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson suffered a bruised foot in Sunday night’s 17-10 win over the New York Giants, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“It’s sore today,” Eagles head coach Andy Reid said told the paper Monday. “But it’s not a Lisfranc [sprain] or one of those things. It got stepped on. It’s tender. He came in early this morning and got treatment, so we’ll see how he does.”

Jackson had one of his best games in what has been a difficult campaign for the Eagles so far this season. The 24-year-old hauled in six receptions for 88 yards, and returned one punt for a season-long 51 yards. Jackson has been forced to carry the receiving burden over the past two games with fellow receiver Jeremy Maclin on the mend with shoulder and hamstring injuries. Maclin played in a Nov. 13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals but was ineffective, only recording two receptions for a season low six yards.

The Eagles are slotted to face the New England Patriots this coming weekend in what is considered a must-win game for Philadelphia. The status for both Maclin and Jackson, as well as starting quarterback Michael Vick, remain uncertain.
