The Seattle Seahawks had reportedly been pleased with the progress of their young offensive line over the course of the 2011 season, and the loss of rookie right guard John Moffitt for the remainder of the season in last Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens was viewed as a hugely disappointing turn of events for a unit that was finally beginning to gel.  Wednesday, according to a tweet from Tacoma News sports columnist Dave Boling, things got more disappointing still:

seahawk rookie tackle James Carpenter injured a knee in practice and will be MRIed tonight.

Carpenter, an offensive lineman out of Alabama, was the team’s first round choice in the 2011 NFL Draft.
