Free-agent starting pitcher C.J. Wilson will visit the Los Angeles Angels on Monday, according to ESPN Los Angeles.
Wilson is considered by many to be one of the top pitching prizes on the free-agent market this winter. The 31-year-old posted a 16-7 record this season for the Texas Rangers, while also recording a 2.94 ERA in over 220 innings of work. Many other teams, including the Washington Nationals, New York Yankees, Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, and the Florida Marlins are believed to be interested in Wilson’s services.
The left-hander has just two seasons under his belt as a starting pitcher. From 2005-2009, he served as a relief pitcher for the Rangers with mixed success. In 2010, Wilson posted a 15-8 record with a 3.35 ERA in his first year as a starter.
