Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger broke his thumb in Sunday’s 24-17 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Scott Brown of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Roethlisberger says he expects to play this coming weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Pro-Bowler reportedly noticed the injury before the start of the second half of Sunday’s game, according to ESPN, but did not take off any snaps. The 29-year-old completed 7-11 passes in the second half and 21-33 overall for 245 yards while throwing one touchdown and one interception in the game. 245 yards is the lowest total yardage Roethlisberger has thrown for this season in a Steelers’ victory.
Through 10 games this year, Roethlisberger has thrown for 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He has a 93.1 quarterback rating.
