Stephon Marbury Calls Michael Jordan A “Sell Out” And A “Fake”

Former NBA All-Star Stephon Marbury took to Twitter to rip fellow former NBA All-Star, and current owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, Michael Jordan, for his hard-line stance against the players in the ongoing labor negotiations.

“Micheal Fake Jordan is a sell out. #Period. He forgot which hole he came out of. I said it “Stephon X Marbury,” one tweet read.

“MJ went from MJ the black cat to a guy who forgot he was a player. Sell your team if you can’t make a profit.. Your just a regular dude now!” another tweet read.

Marbury’s tweets are likely a response to the hard-line stance a faction of NBA owners, led by Jordan, have taken against players in the contentious labor negotiations. Jordan, along with several other owners, were reportedly not happy that the NBA offered to have a 50-50 revenue split with the players. The contended deal was eventually rejected by the players.

The 34-year-old Marbury played 13 NBA seasons for five different teams. His best season came in 1999-00 when as a 22-year-old he averaged 22.2 points and 8.4 assists per game for the New Jersey Nets.
