NBPA President Derek Fisher Meets With Bill Clinton
Former president Bill Clinton visited with NBPA President and fellow Arkansan Derek Fisher, Yahoo! Sports reports.
The former president was in New York, in the same hotel the NBA labor talks are being held, promoting his new book ‘Back to Work.’
“Now you know how I felt all those years,” Clinton reportedly said to Fisher during the brief meeting.
The impromptu meeting comes as the NBPA has rejected the league’s latest offer in which the players would receive between 49 and 51 percent in revenue sharing on basketball related income. NBA commissioner David Stern has made it clear that after Wednesday’s negotiations, he will pull all “rational” deals from the bargaining table.
As it stands, the NBA has cancelled games through November and potentially through Christmas day.
