Report: Detroit Lions Sign Former Pro-Bowler Leonard Davis
The Detroit Lions have signed former Pro-Bowler Leonard Davis to sure up their offensive line, according to Pro Football Talk.
Davis, a Texas native, was released by the Dallas Cowboys in July after serving four seasons with the team.
The 33-year-old guard was the Arizona Cardinals’ No. 2 overall pick in the 2001 NFL draft. After a six year stint in Arizona, the Cowboys made Davis one of the highest paid players in the league when they awarded him seven-year $49.6 million contract in March of 2007. Davis was subsequently named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons in Dallas.
The Lions are currently 6-2 on the season, and stand in second place in the NFC North division behind the undefeated Green Bay Packers.
